Trevor Doom
August 2, 2021, Trevor Doom, along with his fiancé Monica Jewell, her mother, her mother's boyfriend, and her 14-year-old old cousin were all killed on August 2, 2021. A truck ran a red light, broadsiding them at an estimated 60 mph, killing them instantly. Five lives were lost in mere moments.
Trevor, just 26 years old, was a Captain in the Wickliffe Rural Fire Department. He lived his life serving his community as a first responder. He overcame premature birth and cerebral palsy to achieve his dream of becoming a 3rd generation firefighter in my family. He never let his disability define him. He lived his life trying to save lives.
His family shares Trevor’s legacy to save future lives from preventable crashes like the one that claimed his life. His mother successfully advocated for several safety advancements in Ballard County, Kentucky including lower speed limits, a new center turn lane near the crash area, and warning signs for oversize trucks.
